Directing the Imperative to the Addressee and its Significance in the Poetry of Preaching by Al-Hasan bin Ali Al-Hubal

The research dealt with the style of (directing the command to the addressee) by studying and analyzing the preaching poetry of Al-Hubal. It aimed to identify the structure of the imperative sentence and its traits according to the poet in light of his directing his commands to the addressee in his preaching poetry. It also aimed to reveal the connotations and touch on the accompanying allusions of the poet's commands in the context, besides their proportionality and harmony in preaching situations.
To achieve its aims, the research employed the descriptive approach based on analysis, and recourse to statistics to present numeral data that formed a basic hub in the applied study. Moreover, the researcher depended on analytical approach to clarify the references.
As the command style is directed to an addressee, embodies a content, executed in a certain formula, and suggests connotations attached to it, the research was divided into four chapters:
- First chapter: personality of addressee.
- Second chapter: command content.
- Third chapter: syntax of the imperative sentence and its form.
- Fourth chapter: command connotation.
These were preceded by an introduction that stated the importance of command style in Arabic language system, its role in preaching discourse, and included the introduction of the poet and his poetry book.
The results showed the prominent presence of command style in preaching poetry and the poet's unique characteristics and ability to employ it artistically, indicatively and suggestively in the fields of psychology, sentiment and feeling.
