The Role of Transformational Leadership in Enhancing Job Empowerment among Members of the Teaching Staff at Ibb University, Republic of Yemen

Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the extent to which transformational leadership is practiced at Ibb University from the point of view of the teaching staff at Ibb University, identifying the degree of job empowerment level among the teaching staff at Ibb University, in addition to developing a proposed program to activate the role of leadership in supporting job empowerment among the teaching staff at Ibb University. The study followed the descriptive analytical approach. A questionnaire was used. It consisted of three parts: the first part is general information such as gender, position, and experience, the second part is the degree of practicing transformational leadership from the point of view of the sample members, and the third part is the degree of the level of job empowerment among the teaching staff at Ibb University. The study reached some results, the most important of which are:

  • The degree of practicing transformational leadership at Ibb University is low.
  • The level of job empowerment among the teaching staff at Ibb University is also low.
  • There are statistically significant differences in the responses of the study participants about the degree of practicing transformational leadership at Ibb University favoring gender (male), which indicates that gender has an impact.
  • There are statistically significant differences in the responses of the study participants about the level of job empowerment degree among the teaching staff at Ibb University in relation to the gender variable, which indicates that the gender variable has an effect favoring males.
  • There are no statistically significant differences in the responses of the study participants about the degree of the level of job empowerment among the teaching staff at Ibb University in relation to the position variable and for all aspects.
