Abstract

The research aims to collect and study the hadiths mentioned in this issue, and mention the sayings of scholars in judging these hadiths, with an explanation of the correct ones, in addition to an attempt to elicit the most correct opinion on this issue. It relied on the analytical inductive method.

The research dealt with the subject of reverence in prayer, the means of reverence in prayer, the rule of reverence in prayer, the place where the worshiper looks in his prayer, the rule of paying attention and raising his eyes in prayer.

It reached results, including:

1/ The person praying looks either facing his face, or at the place of his prostration.

2/ That the worshiper choose what is more humble for his heart except in two places: in the case of fear, and when he is sitting, he should cast his eyes to the place where he points to his finger.

3 / It is disliked for the worshiper to raise his eyes to the sky, and he dislikes to turn around.

4/ There is no authentic hadith from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, regarding the prohibition of closing one’s eyes during prayer, and it has not been proven that he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, used to close his eyes during prayer.
