Contrary to the Original According to Al-Razi in Al-Tafsirul-Kabeer An Applied Theoretical Study on Selected Examples from Suratul-Baqrah
Keywords:
Contrary to the original, Al-Razi, Al-Tafsir Al-KabeerAbstract
This research deals with selected examples from Suratul-Baqrah in which Al-Razi used a term "contrary to the original" in his book Al-Tafsirul-Kabeer, and studying these examples through the statements of the exegetes, and the total of these examples is four places.
Identifying the term "contrary to the original", its limits, the extent of its stability through exegetical statements, and its implications.
In this research, I followed the inductive analytical approach, as I tracked some of the places in which Al-Razi stated in his interpretation that they contradict the original, and I studied and analyzed them through the statements of the exegetes.
Findings of the research:
- The term "contrary to the original" has not been adopted by many exegetes except Al-Razi.
- What is meant by “original” is the continuous method, what is consistent with the evidence and what is consistent with most usage.
- Frequent violation of the principles of Sharia and apparent evidence by the innovators.
- Most of Al-Razi’s debates in his interpretation are with Mu’tazilah, and he repeatedly discusses their evidence.
Al-Razi’s attention to the principles of jurisprudence, applying them in his exegesis.
