The Prevailing Organizational Culture at the University of Tabuk and its Relationship to Responsibility among Faculty Members

The study aimed to reveal the relationship between the level of the prevailing organizational culture at Tabuk University with its dimensions (power، role، human empathy، achievement)، and the level of social responsibility among the faculty members with its dimensions towards (students، university، society) from their point of view. In addition، it aimed to disclose statistically significant differences between the averages of the responses of the sample individuals about the study axes attributed to the following demographic variables: (academic rank، gender، specialization، nature of work). The study used the descriptive approach with its two survey and correlational techniques، plus the questionnaire tool to achieve its goals. The study population consisted of faculty members at the main headquarters of the University of Tabuk in its two branches: (n= 973) members، who were on duty during the application of the study tool during the academic year 1445 AH، while the study sample consisted of (254) members.
The study concluded the following main findings: that the overall average degree of availability of the dimensions of the prevailing organizational culture came with a significant degree of availability with an arithmetic mean of (3.52 out of 5). The dimension of "achievement culture" came in the first ranking with an arithmetic mean of (3.63 out of 5)، the level of social responsibility in its dimensions among the faculty members came with a high degree of availability with an arithmetic average of (3.76 out of 5)، and the dimension of "responsibility towards the University" came in the first ranking with an arithmetic average of (3.84 out of 5 ). Also، the study results revealed a strong direct correlation with a statistically significant function at the level of significance (0.01) between the level of organizational culture as a whole and the level of social responsibility as a whole.
Among the most prominent recommendations of the study: establishing a unit for the selection and training of academic leaders at the University of Tabuk to promote a culture of power، among its most prominent tasks are setting criteria for selecting academic leadership at the university، and training and developing academic leaders، in addition to establishing an agency in each college called the Community Service Agency for faculty members to promote members' social responsibility practices towards the society، one of its most prominent tasks is to encourage members to conduct studies and research to solve local society issues.
