Weighting by Context According to Sheikh Al-Sa'di through his Interpretation "Tayseer Al-Kareem Al-Rahman fi Tafseer Kalam Al-Mannan" – A Theoretical Applied Study

Abstract

This research dealt with the concept of Qur’anic context, its importance in interpretation, and the extent to which scholars paid attention to it. It also introduced Sheikh Ibn Sa'di and his book "Tayseer Al-Kareem Al-Rahman fi Tafseer Kalam Al-Mannan." Furthermore, it dealt with Sheikh Ibn Sa'di’s care for context through applying it to some examples in which Sheikh Ibn Sa'di has given weight to the concept of context.

Among the most important objectives of the research are:

• Introducing the concept of Qur’anic context.
• Introducing Sheikh Al-Sa'di and his book "Tayseer Al-Kareem Al-Rahman fi Tafseer Kalam Al-Mannan."
• Illuminating the attention of Sheikh Al-Sa'di - may God have mercy on him - to Qur’anic context.

The deductive and analytical approaches were used, and the most important results reached by the research are:

• Context is one of the most important rules that are indispensable for the interpreter to understand the Qur’an.
• The context of the verse is one of the most important factors of weighting when meanings differ.
• Ibn Sa'di - may God have mercy on him - paid great attention to the context in his interpretation.
