Keywords:

This research is concerned with the study of rhythm in the poetry of lamentation by Al-Sharif Al-Radhi through his three poems in which he lamented his friend Abu Ishaq Al-Sabe'.
The research dealt with a brief account about the life of Al-Sharif Al-Radhi, another about the life of Al-Sabe', the relationship that brought them together, and the internal rhythm (vocal) in terms of: loud voices, explosive voices, soft voices, whispered voices, fricative, deviant voice, grandiloquent sounds, recurrent sound, in addition to the external rhythm in which I dealt with weight and rhyme.
The research adopted the descriptive approach based on monitoring and recording all aspects of the literary work related to the levels of analysis on which the research was based, in addition to using instruments of analysis and statistics.
Several results emerged, the most important of which are:
- The number of loud voices in Al-Radhi's elegies for Al-Sabe' is two thousand five hundred and forty-eight, signifying the heated feeling of loss and the pain of parting a friend, as well as Al-Sharif's self-pride and greatness.
- The number of explosive sounds in Al-Radhi's elegies for Al-Sabe' is one thousand three hundred and ninety one, signifying intensity, power, fear and the need for a friend through Al-Sharif's focus on the rhythm of explosive letters.
- The sound of the letter "alif" tops the list of soft sounds in terms of high percentage, then comes the sound of "ya'a", and then comes the letter "waw" in the third and last place.
- In the three elegies of Al-Sabe', Al-Radhi used the two poetry seas: Al-Kamil and Al-Taweel, because of their capacity to express what is in the poet's soul of the agony of loss.
