Abstract

The grammarians stopped at the letters of meanings, including the letters of kindness, and there was a great debate between them about their connotations; So a group believed that each letter was placed in relation to a specific meaning that does not exceed it, so that a letter does not represent a letter, and a letter does not take the significance of another letter. Another group went to victory for the idea of alternating between letters; It may take a letter denoting another letter. This controversy among scholars is one of the effects of the dialogue between the normative grammatical rule and the openness of the text to multiple heavens of understanding to reach the intended significance.

The research dealt with the significance of the conjunctions (waw), (fa), (then), and (until), and the significance of the joint word with no meaning, and the significance of the conjunctions (or), (um), (either), and (but rather). ), (but), and (no).

Therefore, this research aims to reveal Ibn Falah Al-Yamani’s approach in reaching the semantics of the letters of sympathy and his position on the issue of alternating between letters of sympathy by confronting the rule with the text, and revealing Ibn Falah’s directives and interpretations of the Qur’anic verses that apparently contradict the general grammatical rule regarding the semantics of letters Sympathy, as well as revealing the role of the meaning of the text and its context in determining the semantics of the conjunction letters in Ibn Falah, and revealing Ibn Falah’s position on the general ready-made grammatical rules governing the semantics of the conjunction letters when they conflict with the meaning and context of the text.

It was relied on the descriptive approach based on induction, observation and analysis.

The researchers reached several results, the most important of which are:

  • The overall view of the text and attention to its context contributed to reaching a deeper and broader meaning, making the text in its structures conform and fit with the general grammatical rules governing semantics of conjunctions in most of Ibn Falah's directives and interpretations of texts that apparently contradict these general rules.

• Ibn Falah's directives and interpretations steered clear of pretension and ambiguity in his dealings with texts that apparently contradicted the general

grammatical rules governing the semantics of conjunctions. Where it came acceptable meaning, reason and logic.

  • Ibn Falah resorted to making a modification in the general rule governing the connotation of the conjunction letter (then) in accordance with what was dictated by the texts that dealt with it meaning and context.
