Abstract

The research talks about two great sciences: (pausing and beginning) and counting verses, in addition to the relationship between them.

The research sheds light on some introductions related to the science of pausing and beginning as its definition, its importance, and its virtue, and the ruling on pausing at the head of verses in general, and the opinions of scholars regarding that.

It also sheds light on some of the introductions related to the science of counting verses, including its definition, its importance, and the most important works on it. Then, it mentions the heads of verses that are differed on their number according to the numerators from the beginning of Surat Al-Anfal to the end of Surat Al-Isra'a, and the ruling on stopping on them by citing the opinions of scholars in that regard.

In the research, I followed the inductive and analytical approaches, and the research plan required that it consist of: an introduction and two chapters.

The first chapter included: introductions to the sciences of (pausing and starting) and counting the verses.

The second chapter included: mentioning all the heads of the verses whose number differs according to the numerators from Surat Al-Anfal to the end of Surat Al-Isra'a, and the ruling on pausing on them, by mentioning the opinions of scholars in that regard.

Then come the results, the most important of which are:

The relationship of the science of counting verses to the science of pausing and beginning, and the interest of scholars in the science of counting verses.
