Abstract

Allah Almighty supported His Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) with many miracles, including speaking to the people in his cradle. His words contain great doctrinal contents: a declaration for the truth, and refuting the narrations of the extremists regarding him. The research dealt with explaining the reason for his speaking in the cradle, then explaining its implications in general and the doctrinal implications in specific, along with mentioning their proofs from New Testament texts, and reviewing the Christians views of this miracle, as well as analyzing the reasons for their denial of it.

The research aims to clarify the true belief regarding Jesus (peace be upon him) through his words in the cradle, deduce the doctrinal implications contained in Christ’s words in the cradle, and explain the Christians’ position on this miracle.

In this research, I followed the analytical approach in deducing the doctrinal contents contained in the words of Christ (peace be upon him), then the critical approach in criticizing the Christians’ position on that incident.

The study concluded with several results, among which are that:

  • Christians have colluded to deny Jesus's speaking in the cradle.
  • There is a text in the Book of Luke of the New Testament that indicates clearly his speaking in the cradle, but Christians distorted it and made it refer to Yahya bin Zakariya (peace be upon them).
  • The reason for Christians' denial of this miracle is due to the fact that believing of this miracle will destroy the structural foundation of Christian doctrine.

At the end, the researcher recommends:

  • The necessity of studying the holy books of Christians and extracting the truth in it by presenting what was stated in the revelation.
  • To make use of the texts contained in the Christian books to use them as evidence against them as it is more persuasive in argument, especially for those interested in debating with Christians.
