The Effect of the Contradiction between the words of the Prophet - PBUH - and his Actions in Clarifying the Best Times for Performing Umrah
Keywords:
better, Umrah, Ramadan, Thul-Qi`dahAbstract
One of the frequently asked questions is the issue of the best times to perform Umrah. Some say that the Umrah in Ramadan is better than in other months، and another thinks that Umrah in Thul-Qi’dah is better، while another sees equal preference.
Perhaps the disagreement of scholars on the issue is due to the apparent contradiction between the words and actions of the Prophet. As it was mentioned in the virtue of Umrah in Ramadan that he، may God’s prayers and peace be upon him، said: “Umrah in Ramadan is equal to a Hajj with me. " Yet، he (PBUH) performed Umrah in the months of Hajj،
The aim of the research is to:
- Recognize the legal ruling of Umrah.
- Clarify the most weighing opinion regarding the issue of the best times to perform Umrah.
In the research، I followed the analytical approach and the comparative approach، which compare the legal ruling in the four schools of conviction.
The most important conclusions that I reached are: that he most weighing opinion in the matter is that an Umrah in Ramadan is better for all people. As for the right of the Prophet - may God bless him and grant him peace - Thul-Qi`dah is the best. This is the opinion of Imam Ibn Hajar، as he combined the two sayings; thus he، may God have mercy on him، said in Fathu Al-Bari: "The virtue of Umrah in Ramadan has been proven in the hadeeth of the chapter، so which is better? It appears that
Umrah in Ramadan for other than the Prophet - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - is better، and as for his right، what he did is better. "
