Al-Mustadrakat (historical and descriptive study ) ( Mustadrak Al-Hakim as a model)

Abstract

This study dealt with a type of classification in the Sunnah of the Prophet, which is classification through remedial work on a previous work; This is by tracing what he missed of hadiths that were on his condition and did not mention in his book, and this study was intended to define this type of classification, clarify its types, and reveal the time period in which it appeared, then the study included a model of this type of classification, which is (Al-Mustadrak on the two Sahihs ) by Abu Abdullah Al-Hakim.

• The study concluded the following results:

1) that rectification is a type of the motivators’ methods of classification; He relies on one of the previous works in collecting the hadiths of the Prophet, making them the basis of his classification; And that is by following the hadiths that were on his condition and did not mention them, so the recaller mentions them in another work.

2) That this type of classification is the product of a historical development process in classification in the Prophetic Sunnah, which produced this type of classification - rectification - during the fourth century AH.

3) That (Al-Mustadrak on the Two Sahihs) by Abu Abdullah Al-Hakim is a model of the works that were written with this methodology in classifying and collecting the Sunnah of the Prophet.
