The relationship between the professional competence of the student advisor and some personal traits

Abstract

The present study aimed to identify the relationship between the Personality Traits and Professional Efficacy of the Guide and identify the differences in the Professional Efficacy of the student Guide according to the variable (gender، specialization، level of study، experience) using the descriptive approach. The study sample consisted of Students Guide in Jeddah In order to verify the objectives of the study، a measure of the Professional Efficacy of the student Guide was prepared by the researchers and the personal Traits index by Al-Badi (2014). In order to process the data، the Pearson correlation coefficient، T test، The results of the study indicate that there is a relationship between the professional Efficacy of the student Guide and the Traits of (harmony -intelligence - emotional stability- Self-regulation -Self-sufficiency) and differences in the professional Efficacy of the student Guide according to the variable of experience for 10 years and more، while there are no differences in the professionalism of the guide Based on the results of thestudy، the researchers recommended several recommendations.
