Comparative Critical Study

No one can deny that the basis of religion is based on the Quran and the Sunnah. The Sunnah includes true، good، and weak. The only way to know this is by understanding the rules of the knowledge of the hadith terminology، through which the true Hadith is distinguished from the weak one. Therefore، this knowledge has been the focus of attention of scholars since old times، where they classified and wrote about it. al-Hakim Abu Abdullah was one of the first to write about it in his book (Knowledge of Hadith Terminology)، a book in which he showed his full ingenuity، and his superior knowledge of this science، and followed in that by Imam Ibn al-Salah in his book (Science of Hadith Terminology)، which was and is still the interest of students، because not only the value of the book limited to Hadith Terminology، its principles، but it was considered one of the beginnings of the writings in the science of authenticating texts and narratives; for the many comments on the previous scholars in this art، especially Abu Abdullah، Where his name was repeated in Ibn al-Salah book much comparing to other imams of Hadith Fundamentals، where he took care of the book of knowledge for Abu Abdulla، and taught it in Dar al-Hadith، as well as adding margins، comments and corrections in addition to revising the book and avoiding what al-Hakim was mistaken in.
Given the importance of Ibn al-Salah book، and his scientific status، I chose to look at his comments on al-Hakim، giving it the title: (Comments of Imam Ibn al-Salah in his book "Hadith Terminology" on al-Hakim). It was limited to some types related to chain of narrators and text. The research is divided into three sections. The first one handled: the concept of commentary، and the qualities necessary to be available in the commentator، and its scientific benefits. The second handled the biography of the two Imams: Abdullah al-Hakim and his book (knowledge of Hadith Terminology)، and Ibn al-Salah and his book (Hadith Terminology) known as (Introduction of Ibn al-Salah). The third topic one handled Ibn al-Salah's comments on al-Hakim in some types of hadith related to Sind and chain of narrators and text، then the conclusion included the most important findings and recommendations.
