Abstract

This study is concerned with examining the lexical compatibility between Al-Saghani's anomalies and contemporary vocabulary in the Bedouin dialect of Hejaz. This compatibility is observed at three levels:

Perfect compatibility in both form and meaning.

The one that agrees in meaning and approximate in utterance.

The one that agrees in utterance and contradicts in meaning.

The aim of this study is to trace back the contemporary Hejazi Bedouin dialect to its corresponding ancient Arabic dialects، guide it، analyze it، and fit it into the realm of the study.

The study concludes that the authenticity of the terms in the Hejaz Badia that correspond to the anomalies، and their agreement is evidence that these anomalies are Hejazi in origin
