Noah peace be upon him, calling to God

Abstract

This research aims to explain the approaches of the prophets in calling to God Almighty, taking the call of Noah - peace be upon him – in Surat Noah – as a model, so that preachers may benefit from these approaches in performing their mission by following the approaches of the prophets. The call of Noah was based on two main principles: (1) focusing on the manifestations of God's power and urging reflection on them, and (2) persisting to call, arguing the dissentients and undespair, desiring in their conversion. The methods Noah had used varied to include horrifying, appealing and advising (in public once or in private on other occasions) or mixing them together, with patience on his people, until he realized with news from God-Glory that none of his people would believe except those who had believed. Only then he prayed upon them to perish, and so they did.
