Muslims should seek knowing the names and attributes of ALLAH and should be keen on understanding their meanings and contemplating them in order to achieve pure servitude to ALLAH Almighty to elevate to the ranks of those who know their Lord. Among these names the name (Al-Halim = the Forbearer). ALLAH Almighty named Himself (Al-Halim) in eleven verses in the Qur’an, indicating the honor and majesty of this name to God Almighty and to get people's attention to the importance of adopting this great ethic.
The research, which I titled: The Verses of Allah's Forbearance, their Meanings, Occasions and Inferred Guidance, aims to explain the meaning of the name of God (Al-Halim) in context and to infer the most important guidance from the verses in which it occurs. Thus, I followed the deductive, analytical, inductive approach.
The research included four chapters dealing with: the verses having the name of God (Al-Halim) in association with (Al-Ghafour); the verses having the name of God (Al-Halim), in association with (Al-Shakour); the verses having the name of God (Al-Halim), in association with (Al-Ghani); and the verses having the name of God (Al-Halim), in association with (Al-'Alim), together with mentioning the most important benefits and inferred guidance.
I concluded the research with several results, most notably: the importance of clarifying the meanings of the names of God in their Qur’anic contexts because the context of the word has a great impact in highlighting the meaning. Among the most important recommendations is: to teach the meanings of Allah's Names due to their educational effects in the early stages of education.
