Psychosocial Factors Leading to Violence among Secondary School Students from the of Teachers’ Point of View: An Exploratory Study of Abyan Governorate Schools

The aim of this study was to identify the psychosocial factors that lead to violence among secondary school students from the point of view of teachers in Abyan Government secondary schools. To end this, a questionnaire was used after verifying its reliability on a sample of 264 teachers. The study revealed that the psychological factors leading to violence, which are characterized by a good degree of clarity and consistency, got 51.45% of the total discrepancy, such as lack of consensus and sense of inferiority. The results of the study also showed that social factors related to family upbringing, which included 12 reasons such as the absence of parental control over children. The upbringing of the school consisted of 9 reasons such as not dealing with the curriculum to tackle the causes of violence. The communication media were seven reasons, such as the widespread of video games or computer. The results of the study also showed that the family upbringing got the highest level of predictability, a positive relationship between the two factors and the ability of social factors to predict the psychological factors leading to the violence. In addition, the study concluded with some suggestions and recommendations.
