Abstract

The research deals with a collection of hadiths (Prophetic Sayings) about the places where it is prohibited to perform prayer، with a detailed critical study conducted on hadiths (Prophetic Sayings) and their texts and attributions in order to judge if they are true or weak، and also the fiqh (jurisprudence) of these hadiths (Prophetic Sayings).

The research follows an inductive، exclusive، analytical، critical and comparative methodology، as it tries to establish the origin of a vision made clear through discussing the jurisprudent persons' juristic inferences that the jurisprudent person's juristic vision is not only built on the certainty or uncertainty of the narrator's account، but it is also built on a series of other indications and reasons. The most important findings about the research are: the valid prohibition of performing prayers in the vicinities of camels، graveyards، bathrooms، and in the lands which have once sunk down or where people have already received torment. The research has also come up with findings about the weak prohibition of performing prayers on the road، in landfills and in slaughterhouses. It is true that the jurisprudent persons differ over the places where performing prayers is prohibited، however، according to their preponderate views on performing prayers in the above-mentioned places، prohibition in this connection is about purificatory disapproval، because the prayer performed then is still valid.
