Features of the Prophet’s approach, may God bless him and grant him peace, in dealing with terminology- an objective hadith study

Abstract

Among the characteristics of the Muhammadian Sharia: its comprehensiveness in its legislation and building correct perceptions for the servant in all aspects of life, including clarifying the right dealing with terms and words that have multiple meanings. The origin of the term is that it is loaded with meanings, whether positive – calling for virtue and truth, or negative – carrying meanings and perceptions that disagree with the Islamic approach. Thus, this study was to highlight the concept of the term, its importance and functions, then to clarify the features of the Prophet's dealings with it, by extrapolating the texts in this regard. Its features were determined in three pillars, the first: controlling the meanings of some terms and their concepts; the second: the positive employment of some terms by adding new implications to them; and the third: prohibiting the use of some terms and warning against them, and these are the results of the research in this approach.
