Entertainment its Concept and some Examples in the light of the Holy Qur'an

Abstract

Abstract:

This research deals with one of the most important topics of this era, which is entertainment, in the light of the Holy Qur’an. It deals with some forms of entertainment explicitly mentioned in the verses of the Holy Qur’an, and the sayings of scholars of interpretation therein.

It aimed to shed light on the concept of entertainment and its importance in the life of the individual and the community in the light of the Holy Quran, with a presentation of some examples of permissible entertainment mentioned in the Holy Quran.

The researcher followed the inductive and deductive method in his work.

Among the most important findings of the research:

1- The word “entertainment” includes many things that are necessary for human life, such as physical activity, mental activity, and the expansion of permissible foods, drinks, and collectibles.

2- That many of the means of entertainment that are popular with people are rooted in history, such as the hobby of hunting, shooting, and various races.

3- The Holy Qur’an explicitly stipulates many things that people consider as means of entertainment, including: racing, shooting, hunting, grazing, and playing in general.

The research recommends knowledge students and researchers in our contemporary time to pay attention to the interests of the individuals of their time, especially those related to entertainment and self-recreation through permissible means, and to shed light on them through contemplation and reflection of the Holy Quran.
