Abstract

Research title: Sibawayh's approach in arranging his book( Al-Kitab) and its impact on the two books (Al-Muqtadhab and Sharh Al-Tas'heel).

The aim of the research: to explain Sibawayh's methodology in his book and the extent of its impact on the grammar books that were written after him.

Components of the research: This research deals with the following matters:

• A brief history of Sibawayh's life, beginning with his lineage, his upbringing, the reason for his nickname, and the reason for his pursuit for the science of grammar, along with mentioning some of his sheikhs, his students, and then his death.
• Elucidation of Sibawayh's methodology in arranging the book, and mentioning the disagreement contained in his approach, along with mentioning the substantiation for each disagreement.
• Clarification of the effects of Sibawayh's book amongst the grammar books that were written after it, ancient and modern. This was illustrated through two venerable books, "Al-Muqtadib" by Al-Mubarrid, and "Sharh Al-Tasheel" by Ibn Malik.
