Manifestations of the mask and the Alternative Make-up hiring in the theater

Abstract

This study was conducted for the manifestations of the alternative make-up in the theater in order to illustrate aspects of use of the mask as an anthropological and liturgical sign, and how it employed in the classical theater to become an important element of its elements, and how to employ the makeup as an alternative to the curse of the mask  because the mask owned expressionistic energy, symbol, and simulation of the implications of divergent positions, turning its materials and expressive forms depending on the transformation of communities according to each stage of its development. Despite the fact that the mask has been associated with religious rituals beginning of its association with the customs and different occasions, but it had the impact of human thinking technically gives the images to have enjoyed the benefits of intellectual and aesthetic various humanity ears, and became a powerful force in the personal traits because it is an important element of addressing the technical work that embodies the aesthetic values with an expressive style and acts associated with primitive folk art, it also possessed the functional , aesthetic , technical , and semantic elements in contemporary art.

The researcher also reveals the role of the mask in the oriental theater and how to employ the makeup to be an alternative to it , and limits the expressive utmost between them in the impact of the audience psych and uplift the theatrical performance and makes the success of the presentation through them , and the researcher shows the role of the employment of makeup on those theaters and how the directors can , through exploration, employ the makeup to assist the actor to indulge to the utmost personality and highlighted its performance through the new shape to the level of the required sensation for each situations that character acts, and reach the aim of the presentation; it is the  achievement of the aesthetic and intellectual enjoyment for the audience, and makes enrichment of the humanity value and how expressing of its feelings , the makeup design is considered a creative process requiring from the makeup expert (Maker) has deep reason and knowledge in various scientific and human aspects.

The researcher has concluded that the animal was the basic impulse in the appearance of the masks, the painting of the face which the researcher considers as a primitive makeup has been used on the theater before the mask. The mask was employed on the classic theater stage to illustrate the semantic expression of the role . Its use has been disappeared on the theater and its importance has been decreased from the beginning  of the medieval  ages till now especially in Europe, the makeup has  controlled on the contemporary theater and limited with the use of mask in the experimental theatrical works for the aim of achieving the status of imagination and creation . the researcher has arrived on a number of conclusions and recommendation concern with the manifestations of the mask and its employment and how the makeup employment on the theater as an alternative to it particularly in the oriental theater.
