Abstract

This thesis included an inquiry of (The footnote of al-Kafawi by Muhammad ibn al-Hajj Hamid al-Kafawi، who died in 1174 AH، on the footnote of al-Jarjani on the explanation of Adududdin al-Iji on the summary of Muntaha al-Soul by Ibn al-Hajib)

And that from the beginning of the limit of knowledge to the end of the manuscript، as inquiry and study.

The thesis includes an introduction، two sections، and indexes:

Introduction: It includes the importance of the topic، choosing reasons، previous studies، research objectives، research limits، research plan، and methodology.

The first section: the academic section and it contains two chapters:

The first chapter: It includes two themes: The first theme: It includes the definition of Al-Jarjani، his name، lineage، surname، birth، death، his doctrine and school of jurisprudence، his sheikhs and students، his writings، his status and the praise of scholars on him.

The second theme: Introducing the footnote of Al-Jarjani about the explanation of Addud: It includes the reason for writing the book and its date، the author’s approach to his book، and the scientific value of the book.

Chapter Two: It includes two themes: The first theme: Introducing al-Kafawi، and it includes: his name، lineage، surname، birth and death، his doctrine and school of jurisprudence، his sheikhs and students; the political situation and to what extent he is influenced by it; the scientific status and to what extent he is influenced by it; the social situation and to what extent he is influenced by it; his writings، his status And the praise of scholars on him.

The second theme: Introducing Al-Kafawi’s footnote، and it includes: the name of the book and its relation to the author، the reason for writing the book and its date، the author’s approach in his book، the book’s sources and the way he benefited from them، the book’s scientific value، evaluation of the book، description of written copies and examples of them، and showing copies that I will adopt in inquiry، and indicating the symbol indicating each of them.

The second section: the inquiry section، from the beginning of the limit of knowledge to the end of the manuscript.

Indexes: It includes an index of Qur’anic verses، an index for the hadiths and Al-athar، an index for poetic verses، an index for the boundaries، terms and strange terms، an index for groups and schools، an index for places، an index for books mentioned in the text، an index for great figures، an index for sources and references
