Abstract

This paper aims at identifying the intertextuality aspects in Al-Thebyani's poetic apologies. Based on poeticism, these aspects have been internally and externally analyzed to identify the structure of intertextuality and its function, making text of a special poeticism. The following findings were reached:

  • There are many sources for intertextuality in Al-Thebyani's apologies internally and externally in that the external intertextuality is varied between poetic intertextuality and cultural heritage which helps the poet show his intention of seeking for forgiveness.
  • The poeticism of intertextuality is not limited to the textual poeticism only but it extends to the effective one.
