In the context of our online world, the legal definition of a child gains renewed importance, especially in the context of international corporations, social media structures and gaming organizations, in shielding children’s rights in cyberspace. This study emphasizes criminal regulation, global cooperation, platform responsibility, child-centered design, effective tracking, and complaint mechanisms as needful equipment for protecting minors in the virtual surroundings. Following the high rate of digital activities, the importance of global legal frameworks governing child’s rights has increased. The current human rights devices in particular the CRC and its Optional Protocols offer a sturdy but insufficient framework for virtual protection. While International Law has shown adaptability through interpretation and law development, large gaps remain in enforcement and regulations. These limitations underscore the need for persisted legal evolution.
On the other hand, the growing impacts of online platforms are also alarming as it affects a child’s psychological condition. More specifically, they often face social media scams including misleading online content and subscription charges with fake processes. These fraudulent activities have become very common that not only lead to blackmailing children, but also threaten their personal identity and cause serious emotional burdens.
