Abstract

The study aims to prepare a comparative study of the teacher preparation programs between the experience in Saudi Arabia and Japan. To achieve this goal, the researcher reviewed some previous studies related to this subject and to answer the questions of the study, the researcher adopted the comparative analytical method. One of the most important findings of the study that the success of the Japanese experience in preparing the teacher as a resource-limited country is due to its focus on the human element and development, as such the most notable features of the science preparation programs in Japan is its focus on the development of science and the skill of scientific research. The Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has intensified the period of training field and it has developed high-level procedures for the selection of applicants for the teaching profession.

In the end, the research reached several recommendations and procedural proposals for the development of professional teacher development programs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in view of benefiting from the experience of Japan, including: raising the criteria for acceptance of students to join the teacher preparation programs in Saudi Arabia to attract people with high skills and abilities due to the importance of the teacher's career in community development with the adoption of a professional license for the teacher as a specific profession tasks and skills also the researcher found that it should be a re-examination of the courses of teacher preparation programs to ensure that the application of field practical application sufficient preparation for the student teacher, also focus on the side of scientific research in order to prepare the future generation in a more distinctive way, and conducting field studies to evaluate the components of teacher preparation programs: (Objectives, approach, assessments) and ways of developing them in accordance with leading international experiences.
