Al-Hafizh Abu 'Omar Al-Sadafy Al-Muntejaly ... and his Status among the Scholars of Criticism and Praise

Abstract

This research deals with introducing Al-Hafiz Al-Muntajali, and showing his status among the scholars of Al-Jarh and Al-Ta’deel through his sayings about some of the narrators who were quoted from him from his lost book called “The Great History of Asma’ Al-Rijal.”

I followed the fundamentalist approach when introducing our great scholar, and followed the inductive approach to choose the models through which I showed his position among the scholars of the wound and the amendment, and followed the analytical approach in comparing his sayings and opinions with the sayings and opinions of the imams of the wound and the amendment, along with the methodology used in the likes of this research.

And I reached several results, including: the scholars' praise for him, his contribution to enriching the Islamic library with works, and his place among the scholars of Al-Jarh and Al-Ta'deel.

It also reached several recommendations, the most important of which are: the need to search for his works in the world's libraries, prepare a scientific thesis (Master's or PhD) concerned with talking about this great scholar and his works, collecting his critical statements, analyzing and discussing them.
