Abstract

This study aimed to determine the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and its various dimensions (expert systems, neural networks, intelligent agents, and genetic algorithms) on combating money laundering in Islamic banks operating in Jordan. The study employed a descriptive-analytical methodology. The study population consisted of Islamic banks operating in Jordan (Safwa Islamic Bank, Arab Islamic International Bank, Jordan Islamic Bank, and Al Rajhi Bank). A random sample of all bank employees was selected, and the researchers distributed and collected 445 valid questionnaires. The study concluded that AI, with its various dimensions (expert systems, neural networks, intelligent agents, and genetic algorithms), has an impact on combating money laundering. The study recommended the adoption of a national strategy to expand the application of AI in Jordanian Islamic banks and integrating it with banking compliance and supervision systems to reduce financial crimes.
