The Effectiveness of an Integrated Activity-Based Program for Developing Social Skills among Kindergarten Children

Abstract

The research aimed at identifying the effectiveness of an integrated activity-based program in developing social skills among kindergarten children. The quasi- experimental approach was used, and the research sample consisted of (49) Kindergarten children from Hala Bent Khuwaylid Kindergarten – affiliated with Directorate of Education of Amman / Kasbah Brigade in Jordan – during the academic year 2025/ 2026. Two classes were selected and randomly assigned to groups. The first group (n=25) was taught using the integrated activity-based program, while the control group (n=24) was taught using the traditional approach. To achieve the study's objective, the researchers prepared a teacher's guide for implementing the activity-based program and a social skills scale after establishing its reliability and validity. The results indicated statistically significant differences between the mean scores of both groups, in favour of the experimental group for both the total score and all domains. The research recommends incorporating the integrated activity-based programs across different subjects due to their effectiveness in developing social skills.
