Surat Al-A'la: Virtues, Words, Meanings and Guidelines

Abstract

This is a research related to Surat Al-A’la, which is one of the middle Surahs of Al-Mufassal, that is frequently recited to people on Fridays and festivals. It contains great meanings and guidance, and many hadiths and narrations have been reported about its merits. I chose this topic because it is related to the Book of Allah, because there is no contemporary research that deals with this surah in the way I have followed, and because I want to follow the path of the interpreters in isolating some Surahs of the Qur’an for interpretation and explanation. I mentioned in it the virtues of the surah, its topics, the origins of its vocabulary and meanings, while highlighting the reasons for the connection of its verses and their relevance to what precedes and follows them, and pursuing whatever rhetorical subtleties and derived benefits are possible. I followed the analytical approach and was keen to analyze the words morphologically and linguistically, and to mention the close meanings. I did not quote much of the sayings of the predecessors because they are well-known. I made the research into two chapters. The first chapter is an introduction to the surah and contains subsections. The second chapter is interpretation of the verses, which I divided into three sections, in each section I talked about its relevance to the previous one, with an analysis of the words and interpretation of the verses and mentioning their benefits and what can be inferred from them.
