A Proposal to Design a Distant Learning Environment in Saudi Universities in light of E-Learning Standards

Abstract

The study aimed to be familiar with distant learning and its educational environment، the standards of e-learning for designing a distance learning environment، and to develop a proposed framework for designing a distant learning environment in Saudi universities in light of e-learning standards. To achieve the study objectives، the researcher followed the theoretical analytical structural approach to analyze the relevant literature on the study topic. The study concluded the importance of distant learning and its educational environment in achieving educational goals، and the necessity of utilizing e-learning standards in designing educational environments. The study also proposed a conceptual framework for a distant learning environment in Saudi universities based on e-learning standards.

The researcher recommended a set of recommendations، including the need to develop and activate distant learning environments in different educational programs and stages.
