The research dealt with the Sharia objectives of the ruling on using zakat money to pay the blood money of a person who was killed by mistake or semi-intentionally, as well as the legal objectives of the ruling on using zakat money to pay the blood money of a person who was killed intentionally, especially if the killer is unable to pay the blood money from his own money. The research aims to provide a legal basis for the ruling on using zakat money to pay the legal blood money when inability to do so occurs, and to clarify the objectives of Islamic Sharia in the chapter on legal punishments and the purpose of the Great Legislator in enacting such punishments to reform people and regulate their lives and livelihoods, in addition to contributing to answering these legal intricacies and trying to reach the legal ruling that balances between benefits and harms and concurs with the purpose of the Legislator in this chapter.
The researcher followed the inductive tracking approach and then discussed the statements. Among the most prominent results that the researcher reached are:
1/ The permissibility of paying the blood money for accidental and semi-intentional killing from zakat money in the event of insolvency, which is what a group of contemporary scholars have issued a fatwa on.
2/ It is not permissible to use zakat funds to pay the settlement because it contradicts the great objectives of Islamic Sharia.
