Parents' Opinions towards Training People with Autism Disorder on the Art of Etiquette and Social Rules to Improve their Chances of Community Assimilation

Abstract

The current study aimed to identify the attitudes of parents towards training people with autism disorder on the art of etiquette and social rules to improve their chances of community assimilation. The study relied on the descriptive survey approach, and the sample was (151) parents in the Tabuk region. To achieve this goal, a tool was prepared to measure the attitudes of parents towards training people with autism disorder on the art of etiquette and social rules, and the results showed that parents have highly positive attitudes towards training people with autism disorder on all arts of etiquette and social rules with a general arithmetic average of (4.13 out of 5.00). It was also found that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.05) in the attitudes of parents towards training people with autism disorder on the art of etiquette and social rules to improve their chances of community assimilation due to the variables of educational qualification, age, gender. Then, the results were discussed and some recommendations and future research were proposed.
