Models of the Readings of Imam Abu Amr al-Basri (may God have mercy on him) According to the Tayyibat al-Nashr Method (A Comparative Study)

Abstract

This research compiles what was available of the variant readings of Imam Abu Amr al-Basri, taken from the book "Sharh Tanqih Fath al-Karim" by Imam Ahmad al-Zayyat. I hope it will be beneficial and achieve its intended purpose. The research is divided into an introduction, three chapters, and a conclusion.

The introduction outlines the importance of the research, its objectives, methodology, research plan, and aims. The first chapter provides an preamble to the science of variant readings, defining it, highlighting its importance and origins, discussing its most important works, the different schools of different readings, and the differences in their methodologies, narrations, and variations. It also covers previous studies and the research methodology. The second chapter introduces Imam Abu Amr al-Basri and his two narrators, al-Duri and al-Susi, and the methods of their narrators as presented in "Tayyibat al-Nashr" by Imam Ibn al-Jazari (may God have mercy on him). The third chapter presents the variant readings of Abu Amr al-Basri, supporting my points with illustrative tables, mind maps, and examples from the poetry of those who have written on this subject.
