Challenges Facing Science Supervisors in Practicing Electronic Supervision from the Perspective of Science Supervisors and Teachers

Abstract

The research aims to identify obstacles (material, administrative, human) facing science supervisors in practicing electronic supervision from the perspective of science supervisors and teachers in Al-Lith, and to determine if there are differences between study sample responses on these three obstacle dimensions attributed to the variables of (job type, experience, training courses).

To achieve this goal, a descriptive approach was used; a questionnaire consisting of three dimensions was designed and applied to a sample consisting of (10) educational supervisors and (700) science teachers in Al-Lith. The most important results showed that the degree of obstacles hindering electronic supervision practice from the perspective of science teachers in Al-Lith was moderate. There were also statistically significant differences between study sample responses on all three obstacle dimensions based on job type favoring educational supervisors and based on training courses favoring those who did not receive any training course. There were no statistically significant differences between study sample responses on all three obstacle dimensions based on experience. According to these results, recommendations and suggestions were provided, the most important of which are: increasing training courses for science teachers on using internet and its tools in educational supervision, provided that these courses should be characterized with continuity, development and following-up. Also, the in charge administration should provide material and spiritual support and smooth out any obstacles of electronic supervision facing science supervisors and teachers.
