Finishing the Angels’ and the Righteous’ Supplications with the Beautiful Names of God: A Study in Light of the Holy Qur'an

Abstract

This study aims to shed light on (Finishing the supplications of angels and righteous people with the Beautiful Names of God: A Study in Light of the Holy Qur’an). This study consists of an introduction, a preface, two chapters, a conclusion, and an index of sources and references. In the introduction, the study mentions the importance of the topic and the reasons for choosing it, as well as the objectives, methodology, and plan of the research. The study also explains the Beautiful Names of God and how they conclude the supplications of angels and righteous people in the Holy Qur’an. The angels, peace be upon them, used to call upon God Almighty with His Beautiful Names in supplications of asking and requesting, as well as in their supplications for believers in their absence and seeking forgiveness for them and for the bearers of the Throne. The study also explains the supplications of righteous people closed with the Beautiful Names of God in the Holy Qur’an and their diversity, in terms of supplications that sometimes include praise, and sometimes hope and thanks, in addition to supplications of fear and dismay, and supplications of asking and requesting. Based on the objectives of the study, the researcher reached several conclusions, the most important of which are:

The diversity of the supplications of angels and righteous people between supplications of asking and requesting, and supplications of hope and fear. The wisdom of concluding the Qur’anic context of their supplications with the Beautiful Names of Allah is a reminder of Allah and His Attributes, glory be to Him. He is the Forgiving, the Merciful, the Appreciative, the Accepter of repentance. This is only so that the sinner may repent, the polytheist may believe, and the lost may return to the straight path of Allah. Based on the above, the study recommends further research on the Qur’anic verses that conclude with the Beautiful Names of Allah and which have not been studied, to highlight their meanings, demonstrate their interpretive and rhetorical benefits, and utilize them in contemporary reality, as the divine laws do not change or alter.
