Inclusion Concept and its effect in Exegesis (An applied Comparative Study)

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the origin of the concept of inclusion (implication of meaning) based on the views of the prominent scholars of Arabic language and Quranic exegesis. It highlights the concept of inclusion as a rhetorical approach that reveals the secrets of Quranic vocabulary, enriching the Quranic text with profound nuances. The study is based on authentic sources in Quranic exegesis and Arabic language studies concerned with rhetorical analysis. The study emphasizes that the concept of inclusion is of great importance for understanding Quranic expressions, and illustrates how scholars have applied this concept. The researcher employed an analytical comparative approach, and concluded that inclusion is a significant rhetorical approach pursued by many scholars, as it helps clarify and explain cases where certain verbs are used with prepositions they do not standardly collocate with. Furthermore, the study asserts that employing inclusion should only occur after fulfilling its established conditions, and that interpreting Quranic texts must be guided by a principle of avoiding unnecessary over-interpretation.
