Evidence and Traces in Dispraising the Child of Adultery -A Doctrinal Study

Abstract

This study examines the evidence and implications related to the status of a child born out of adultery from a doctrinal perspective. It reviews the relevant textual evidence, discusses its authenticity and implications,  and analyzes its impact on theological beliefs.

The research also explores the views of the early generations of scholars and the opinions of Islamic jurists on this issue,  clarifying the stance of Ahl al-Sunnah and investigating its alignment with the concept of justice.

The study employs a critical analytical methodology that involves examining evidence from the Qur’an,  Sunnah,  and the sayings of early scholars while also considering the social and psychological impacts on a child born out of Adultery.

The study concludes that a child born out of adultery is not held accountable for the wrongdoing of the parents but is judged based on his/her actions and behavior. However,  some narrations suggest that the offspring of illicit relationships might have a predisposition toward wrongdoing,  a view supported by certain historical accounts.
