Abstract

General Foundations of Linguistics is one of several subjects dealt by the literature of 'Introductory Linguistics' which aims to clarify the foundations of modern linguistics with all its different trends compared to ancient linguistics. This paper comprehensively addresses the characteristic foundations of modern linguistics research, in the context of Arabic readers. Such comparisons of distinctive features between modern linguistic research and classic Arabic one has not yet been fully explored.
