Directing Quranic Readings، Al-Hamadhani، Al-Maqāṭiʻ wa-Al-mabādī

Abstract

This research is titled: "Directing the Quranic Readings According to Imam Abu al-Ala al-Hamadhani in his Book Al-Hādī fī Maʻrifat Al-Maqāṭiʻ wa-Al-mabādī: A Descriptive Analytical Study. " The research aims to elucidate al-Hamadhani's methodology of directing Quranic readings in his book " Al-Hādī fī Maʻrifat Al-Maqāṭiʻ wa-Al-mabādī، " to identify the sources from which he drew his directives، and the approaches he employed therein. This is accomplished by tracking the instances of direction in his book and analyzing them.

The study included: an introduction introducing Abu al-Ala al-Hamadhani and his book، followed by three main chapters: his methodology in directing (readings)، his sources، and his approaches therein. The research concluded with results، the most important of which are:

1. 1. Al-Hamadhani's direction of Quranic readings holds scientific value، which is evident in his methodology throughout his book—both in fundamental principles (usul) and textual variants (farsh)—through his extensive elaboration in directing and reasoning، his digressions، and the abundance of Quranic، linguistic، and poetic evidence.
2. 2. The diversity of sources upon which al-Hamadhani relied in his directing، including his own transmitted narrations، sources in Quranic readings، pause rules (waqf)، Quranic meanings، and language. Additionally، the multiplicity of directing approaches he employed، such as directing readings through the Quran، Prophetic traditions (hadith)، Quranic orthography (rasm al-mushaf)، meaning، language، poetry، grammar and morphology، and others.
